blessings of love upon you; may the light guide you along the way
If you are, you have knowledge of life; if you are reading this, you also have knowledge of Finding Abundant Life (FAL); you are welcomed in both.
I am a girl learning to dance as life with the music of the universe.
Years ago i had the blessing of hearing about a dream of soul sister, Olivia Helen, which is full of life and emerging in delicate beauty as this blog about, well… life. I am very glad to be part of building this network for light and love to flow through and will be participating as a writer. I am, therefore, i believe in a way with wellness for all, truth, intentionality, mindfulness, and love; and that Finding Abundant Life will be a valuable platform for these and many other blessings. Hence, i am very excited to see the flames of החיים (life) run wild through the connections and conversations sparked on this site.
For anyone wondering who this individual is: the registered name of my human is Elaina Faith Hudspeth. General areas of personal nurture presently include: learning how to dance with the chaotic potential of life and maneuver with the influence time has in this as a primary principle of synchronization and grounding element of individualism. All that to say, i am still releasing hold of “my control” over “my” life and time management is an area i have toddled about unsurely in because of this, ergo practicing intentionality in holding space for ritual while being in open pursuit of the way that will be according to the will of the maker of life.
sheltered by trees
under a sky of leaves
i found shalom
on a forest floor home
with moss embossed burns
and featherlike ferns
storms helped me come to terms
with love
more than all thereof
Childhood was graced with delight as i grew, cradled by the Ozark Mountains, exploring spaces with emerald azure waters, expansive fields, magnificent stone cliffs, and affable woods. Nestled in one of these hollers amongst the eminent trees is a cozy log cabin guarded by a mumbling creek. Crafted by my father from the woods and with the land; the fires within kept me warm till my 222nd moon cycle.
Compulsory commitment to the tending of these familiar hearths lead to much convincing on the part of my soul sister Livi before i would venture out. We lived for a while as “olde maids” in my great grandparents farmhouse while attending the University of Arkansas. There i worked towards a degree to highlight the ancient art of needle and thread passed onto me by my grandmother; in a cottage by the pines. Most days of my childhood one could find some child or another scurrying over the creek and through the woods to grandma’s house where love, care and a sympathetic ear were sure to be found amongst the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies wafting over the old vinyl melodys.
Nonetheless, after a winter of living an hour from the bus stop to the U of A, i meandered towards town. On the hunt for adventure, i roamed the nearby hills cruising backroads deep into the countryside and night. My wanderings moved toward faytown, where i came to admire the hungry city, with her bustling people and scaling buildings reaching out/up for more. Falling soul deep into the waters of work, school, and love; i learned the importance of breath.
Submerged in new experiences of 40+ hour work weeks, studying for 16 credits, first boyfriend, small business management, first time living in town and the oddities of apartment life; the following months taught me much of the storm i so naively and passionately chased. 11 months later, on the 3rd day of experiencing a fevered puking illness together, boyfriend asks if i want to marry him; 3 months after the proposal, we hold a marriage ceremony. Gasping for breath and clawing at life; black and white were both explored and experienced in peaks between the gray that was before. It was a time of breaking open to be_come.
These days, i am often focusing on the new start-up businesses i creatively flow with and learning the ins and outs of moving with their growth. One of these is makers’ meraki; an LLC which blossomed from my first brand, Moonstone Designs. Consequently, one may often find my tostled bed head, meekly yet diligently, studying how to nurture and care for the newly founded LLC. A few highlights are taxes, accounting, searching for sustainable, mindfully wrought, material sources, and writing and compiling innovative ways to skill-share. When not tied up with the “office work” aspects of small business management i enjoy spending time fervently enmeshed in hands on textile manipulation through sewing and design.
I am passionate about sharing art with others and would love to connect with the maker in you. I look forward to engaging on this site and want to state now that i adore constructive criticism when given respectfully and from a place of love. So please, speak up. Seeking to love and grow with “my neighbors” beckons to me as a natural and tantalizing way. My musings on this site are part of the art of my life, it changes and grows accordingly; sometimes a chaotic storm, others a peaceful sea. What may unfold in life is the most beautiful mystery.
Anyways, there’s a little about this individual.
May your soul be blessed with love.
See you ‘round
